The 2o Of December is the last night of autumn and the beginning of winter and the longest night of the Iranian calender year.We celebrate this lovely night with all the family members and usually go to the oldest person's home in the family such as grand father or mother to celebrate the Yalda.
Iranian eat some traditional symbolic dried or fresh fruit,such as watermelons , pomegranates, apples, grapes and all are symbols of love,warmth,kindness,happiness freshness. Pomegranate is the special fruit of this night which means the cycle of life- the rebirth and revival of generations.Yalda in Farsi (Persian) means "Birth".
